FAQ

  • How do you determine if we're a good fit to work together?

We work exclusively with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations committed to equity and social justice. During our free consultation, we'll discuss your challenges, goals, and values to see if our approach aligns with your needs. We're honest about whether we're the right partner—even if it means referring you to someone else.

  • What's the difference between your comprehensive partnerships and project-based support?

Our comprehensive partnerships are 6-month engagements (typically 480 hours) that address multiple organizational areas—fundraising, systems, communications, and capacity building. Project-based support focuses on specific challenges like a single campaign, grant writing, or implementing one new system. We'll help you decide which approach makes sense for your current needs and budget.

  • Do you work with organizations of all sizes?

Yes! We've partnered with everything from grassroots startups to established institutions. Our approach scales to meet you where you are—whether you're a two-person team launching your first fundraising effort or an established organization ready to optimize your operations and expand your impact. Previous nonprofit clients include Brown University Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, Browning the GreenSpace, Economic Progress Institute and RIBBA.

  • How involved is our team during the consulting process?

Very involved! We believe in building your internal capacity, not creating dependence. We work alongside your team, provide training, and ensure knowledge transfer so you can maintain and build on the systems we create together. You'll always understand how and why things work. Part of the scope can include attending regular staff meetings to feel like we’re a member of your team.

  • What happens if we need support after our engagement ends?

Sustainability is built into everything we do. We create systems and processes designed to work long after we're gone, and we provide thorough documentation and training. Many clients also choose ongoing support through smaller project engagements or periodic check-ins as they grow.

  • How quickly can we expect to see results?

The timeline varies depending on your goals, but most clients see early wins within the first month, like improved processes or clearer messaging. Sustainable fundraising and organizational capacity changes typically develop over 3-6 months. We'll set realistic expectations and celebrate progress milestones along the way.
